Highlights: Caroline Schafer is headed to Cal Berkeley to play Beach in fall 2017. She was a 4 year Varsity indoor player at Miramonte High School where she was a 6 rotation player. She was awarded First Team All League 2015, 2016, 2017 and 3rd Team All NCS 2016 and 2nd Team All NCS 2017. She lead her team in Blocks and Kills 2015, 2016 and 2017. She was Varsity co-Captain her Sr year and was awarded Max Preps & American Volleyball Coaches Association Player of the Week for the state of California October 2016. She was named to the AVCA Phenom List 2015, 2016, 2017. Caroline was a starting MB/RS 4 years at Encore VB Club where her team was ranked top 10 in the country for the past 4 years, earning the Bronze medal in Open Division at Nationals in 2015. Caroline’s love of beach won out and her future focus will be on the sand as a Golden Bear. Caroline won Bronze at AAU Beach JOs 2014 and Bronze at AAU Beach CA State Championships in 2016. Caroline was selected the past three years to the USA High Performance Jr Beach program and is a current member of the USA HP A2 U19 National team.

Josie Cole

Highlights: Josie Cole was a 4-year varsity player on the girls indoor volleyball team at Campolindo High School, that competed in the NCS finals all 4 years. She also competed on the track and field varsity team as a freshman in shotput, discus and high jump. Josie’s indoor club teams competed at the Girls’ Junior National Championships every year since she was 12. She was listed on the AVCA Phenom List in 2014 and 2015, and was named a Rising Star by Sportstar Magazine her Sophomore year before being recruited to play for UC Irvine indoor. She then decided to rescind her offer from UCI and chose to play beach volleyball for Oregon Ducks, where she will play this Spring.

Highlights: Blake Sharp will be playing volleyball at Stanford University starting in the fall of 2017 as a walk-on. Among her accomplishments on the court, she was awarded first team all-league and a varsity letter in 2016 for Miramonte High School in Orinda along with being a co-captain and helping lead the team to the Northern California semi-finals as one of two starting outside hitters. Blake also was a 4.0 scholar athlete all four years of high school. Playing opposite for Absolute Volleyball Club in Marin, her team finished 5th in Junior Nationals in 2017 in the National Division and participated in the Open Division in 2016 & 2015. She was also named to PrepVolleyball’s Dream Team for the Pacific Northwest Qualifier. In 2016, she won the bronze medal for the NCVA Beach Regional Championship.

Ana Almeida Costa

Highlights: Ana is a very talented and athletic player coming from Sergipe, Brazil. Her mother was a professional indoor player in Brazil and Europe for several years and Ana followed her footsteps. Ana playes both indoor (OH) and beach and is accomplished in both. On the indoor side, she is currently playing for St. Petersburg Junior College in Florida. On the beach, she finished 1st Place in the U19 CBV National Championship and and 3rd Place in the U23 CBV National Tournament playing with Jacqueline Ribeiro (also a Carioca beach athlete). Internationally, she finished 4th Place in the FIVB U19 World Championship (2016).

Maddie Dailey

Maddie has been playing volleyball for 6 years on the court and 4 years on the sand as a pin hitter and middle for indoor and a blocker and defender for beach. She has won two league and two section titles with her varsity high school team and placed in the top three at multiple club qualifiers, including winning Colorado Crossroads in USA and taking the bronze in Open. Her club teams at Vision have won league the past two years and went undefeated, 31-0, this season. She has attended nationals for 4 consecutive years in Open, National, and American. But, she has always found a love for the sand and has trained during the summer through the years. Placing top five in many junior tournaments, medaling in multiple, and winning a few, Maddie loves to work hard and can’t wait to continue to train with Carioca Volleyball and follow her volleyball career into college.

Catherine has been playing indoor volleyball for 6 years and beach volleyball for the last 3 years. She has been playing libero for Vision Volleyball Club, which last year ended up top 16 in the nation. In addition, her team has been undefeated in the Northern California region for the past two years, 72-0. On the beach, Catherine has won many CBVA youth tournaments in Santa Cruz over the years and she is going to concentrate solely on sand this summer, and beyond.

Highlights: Elizabeth plays OH for her Club and High School. At Campolindo HS, she has been North Coast D2 Champions and Norcal Open Final Four. She has been Club Team Captain; On the beach, she has participated and several tournaments finishing 2nd at 2016 NCVA Beach Tournament.

Highlights: Bailee has been playing indoor volleyball for 6 years and beach volleyball for 3 years. She plays outside hitter and middle for Absolute Volleyball Cub and high school. For the past several years in club, Bailee played up a level and her teams won multiple club qualifiers; Presidents Day Tournament, Bay View Classics and placed in the Silver Division – top 20 in Colorado Crossroads. On the beach, she competed in Monterey tournaments and quickly learned she LOVES the sand! Bailee is a dedicated volleyball player……knows hard work pays off and believes in training to become the best player possible. Bailee is honored to train with Carioca Volleyball and looks forward to her volleyball career in college!
